Executed Renaissance

"Executed Renaissance" is a motion design explainer dedicated to a tragic period in Ukrainian history — the cultural repression of the 1920s–1930s, when Soviet authorities executed, imprisoned, or silenced an entire generation of Ukrainian artists, poets, writers, and intellectuals. Known as the "Executed Renaissance," this era represents a brutal interruption of a flourishing cultural movement. The video uses expressive motion design to convey both the creative power of that generation and the violence of its destruction. Graphic compositions combine archival imagery, restrained color palettes, and bold typography to reflect censorship, erasure, and resistance. The visual rhythm and symbolism aim to preserve memory and provoke reflection on the cost of lost voices and the resilience of Ukrainian culture.
